Under the Sea
Last weekend I was surprised by my Future Mother-In-Law and some of my best friends with an Under the Sea themed Kitchen Tea (a South Africanism, that is otherwise known as a Bridal Shower here!) Unbeknownst to me, my FMIL (Future Mother-In-Law), my Maid of Honor, and my Future Hubby all banded together to invite as many of my friends as possible to come celebrate! This is no easy task, as my circle of friends is quite tiny.
I was told that we'd be heading over to FMIL's place to celebrate her birthday with a few drinks before heading to dinner. So I dressed up and followed Future Hubby over to New Jersey. Her place has gorgeous views of the city and the Hudson so I always bring my camera when we head over there.
When I walked in, I was surprised by the girls that were coworkers-turned-friends from my last company and was so excited because I hadn't seen them in three months! After being surprised, FMIL had one more surprise up her sleeve: she flew out Kate! (If you've been following my blog for a while, you know she's the third piece of Alice and I's #DisneySquad.) After all the shock and hugs and hellos were done, we moved to a table of deliciousness! I wasn't able to capture any of the savory treats, but take my word that it was all yum!
As if the surprises of guests weren't enough, I was showered with gifts. Pampering LUSH gift sets... Custom Tsum Tsums... Hand-made lingerie... The most precious set of Ariel ears... And lots of kitchen goods!
As much I've been trying to be my definition of a 'no-fuss bride', I haven't been able to avoid the traditional pre-wedding events: the Engagement Party, this Bridal Shower/Kitchen tea, and this coming weekend, I'll be heading up to Boston for my bachelorette party. Though I know I've been quite the tough cookie (read: stubborn and difficult) about having these parties, I'm grateful for all the love that Future Hubby and I have received during this special time in our lives.
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO'S BEEN PART OF OUR JOURNEY, FROM ENGAGEMENT TO ENGAGEMENT PARTY TO BRIDAL SHOWER TO BACHELORETTE PARTY... ALL THE WAY TO OUR BIG DAY.
HAVING YOU ALL BE A PART OF OUR LIVES IS A BLESSING AND WE'RE SO INCREDIBLY LUCKY!
Special thanks to Alice for shooting these pictures and my FMIL & Future Hubby for putting this together!
